Kruzhlinin To Recapture Form For Hobbs

Kruzhlinin To Recapture Form For Hobbs

Hasn’t run for almost a year but looked a useful 3-mile chaser in the making. Earned an RPR of 153 for his last win.

For the 3.10 Kempton I’m making a rare foray into the National Hunt sphere in order to back – Kruzhlinin.

He’s a horse I’ve always held in high regard but unfortunately he’s had his setbacks because this is his first start in 342-days. Nevertheless, he is only nine and has relatively few miles on the clock.

At his peak he won two 3-mile chases at Kelso in the 2013-14 season the latter coming off today’s mark of 138. He earned Racing Post Ratings of 149-153 for those victories and they were cemented by solid times on the clocks.

I’ve always thought Kruzhlinin was the type to win the Beacher chase or possibly the Grand National (finished 10th in 2014) but first he needs to prove his well being by winning at Kempton.

Philip Hobbs has his string in fine fettle with a 33% strike rate (26-80) since the start of December and there is every chance he can return Kruzhlinin to his best.
