Kempton Tips: What Asham

Races off a workable mark on his handicap debut and better than the bare form last time.

What Asham makes his handicap debut this afternoon and has been given a chance by the handicapper in the 5.15 Kempton.

He was beaten 13 lengths on his last start but ran better than the bare form. From stall 12, Seb Sanders was forced to wait in rear and was caught in the wrong position when the raced developed into a sprint three furlongs from home.

The first two were both useful performers (rated 80+) but after them What Asham could be the best of the rest. The manner in which he stayed on suggests there is ability lurking somewhere.

A full brother to Resolute a 7f Southwell winner, he might be better on the Fibresand but from a good draw in a mediocre race, he is worth a small investment at 13/2 (Boylesports).
