Kempton Tips: Spellmaker
Has won six of his last nine starts and according to the clock there is more to come.
It’s amazing to think a horse that has won six of its last nine starts is only fourth favourite in the betting for the 9.20 Kempton.
Spellmaker’s never been shorter than 7/4 for any of those victories and he’s still cruelly underrated.
Analyse the manner of his wins and there is nothing ‘flukey’ about this horse, he’s won on merit.
On 15 February he ran a 21.6s final 2f split at Lingfield, which is seriously fast and backed that up on the 22 February in a hot handicap, finishing third with a 22.0s final 2f sectional.
You’ve got to be a decent horse to run sub-22s and I don’t think the handicapper has caught up with him yet. At 13/2 (William Hill) he is hard to ignore.
