Kempton Tips: Sir Pedro
Undone by a moderate gallop on his last two starts; this promises to be more of a burn up.
Sir Pedro finished a disappointing third when I backed him at Wolverhampton but I am giving him another chance in the 4.50 Kempton.
In hindsight the race at Wolverhampton wasn’t run to suit, Royal Bajan was given a soft lead and he dictated an ordinary gallop which meant the held-up Sir Pedro was left with too much ground to make up.
One could argue that Graham Lee didn’t give Sir Pedro the greatest of rides but more important for the horse is a strong gallop, which he is virtually guaranteed with Island Legend in the field.
Two starts back he looked an unlucky loser at Lingfield and if getting the breaks, he should go close from a good draw this evening.
