Kempton Horse Racing Tips: Royal Intruder
Finished second over course and distance in late November. Favourite is unsuited by the trip.
At first it looked a quiet Sunday but there is a chunk of value in the 3.10 at Kempton that can’t be missed.
The favourite, Desert Strike (5/2 with Stan James) has to be opposed. Eight of his nine wins have come at five furlongs, and he needs an end-to-end gallop. He’s got neither today.
Royal Intruder can be forgiven two poor runs at Southwell as I’m certain the fibresand isn’t his surface. His last visit to Kempton saw him finish second behind Aye Aye Digby, clocking a good time in the process. This will be his fourth run for Richard Guest and the signs are his new trainer is getting to grips with him.
With a weak favourite, a small bet is recommended on Royal Intruder at 12/1 with William Hill.
