Kempton Tips: Mr Mac
Sent off at massive prices on first three starts but ran a fair sectional last time out and potential improver on handicap debut.
Mr Mac has been sent off at 200/1, 66/1 and 100/1 in his three career starts to date but it could be mission accomplished as he’s been given a mark of 59.
In the 2.20 Kempton he makes his handicap debut and there could be plenty of improvement to come. Last time out he was beaten 9.75 lengths but it wasn’t a performance without hope. Held-up in rear he was the fourth fastest closer in the race and his final 3f split wasn’t far behind the first three finishers in the race.
The overall time was poor, which tempers enthusiasm but the sectional offers encouragement. Peter Hedger’s stable are also in good form, firing in a double on the 21 January. Both were ridden by Tom Marquand and he takes the ride on Mr Mac.
