Kempton Tips: Moorhouse Lad
Shaped as if ready to capitalise on his sliding handicap mark.
A former Group 3 winner, Moorhouse Lad might not be as good as he once was but he certainly has enough ability to win the 4.55 Kempton.
Today’s class 4 handicap is there for the taking, if he can reproduce his run over course and distance a month ago. He showed his customary early dash to lead a useful field of class 3 handicappers, only folding in the last 100 yards.
Although he lines up against potential front-runners like Island Legend and Ring For Baileys they are a lower calibre of horse than he is used to. Apart from Forest Edge, everything in the field is rated 81 or lower; contrast that to his last Kempton start when the lowest rated horse had a mark of 84. I expect class will prevail and at 5/1 (Bet365), Moorhouse Lad looks the best bet.
