Kempton Tips: Monks Stand
Highly tried of late but running respectably and this a lot easier. Ran a 21.56s sectional when last seen on the all-weather.
Monks Stand has finished 767 in his last three races but has actually been running quite well given the stiff competition. Last time out he was only beaten 3.25 lengths in a competitive handicap at Goodwood and even his 12.5 length defeat by Caravaggio reads well given the latter’s exploits.
This evening Monks Stand takes a sizeable drop in class and a return to the all-weather is also in his favour.
When last seen on an artificial surface he ran a blistering 21.56s closing sectional at Lingfield to earn an adjusted speed rating of 104. He followed that up with an adjusted rating of 89 at Brighton to prove it wasn’t a one off.
A mark of 85 is well within his sphere and he should win this easily.
