Kempton Tips: Kakatosi

Eye-catching performance when last at Kempton – one of only two horses to make up ground off a steady gallop.

Kakatosi might not be the horse he was two or three years ago but he retains enough ability to be competitive in a class 4 handicap.

A previous course and distance winner, I was impressed by his last performance at Kempton, albeit back in March. He was one of only two horses to make any headway in a race run at a moderate gallop. He went into my notebook that day as a horse to follow if getting a strongly run race.

In a big field, with several horses that like to race prominently, there is a good chance he gets a strong pace and from stall 4 he has good draw to stalk the leaders.

His form on turf this summer was encouraging, never beaten more than 3.25 lengths and returned to the all-weather he is overpriced at 16/1 (Bet365).
