Kempton Tips: Gallifrey
Bumped into the impressive Enable on debut but ran a fast closing sectional and cost 170,000 guineas as a yearling.
Lucy Wadham doesn’t have many two-year-old winners (1-19) or runners for that matter but I doubt she’s got many horses that cost 170,000 guineas as a yearling.
Gallifrey represents a break from the norm and could be a useful filly if her debut is anything to go by. She finished 3.75 lengths behind the potentially smart Enable and although John Gosden might be the fly in the ointment again (he saddles the favourite), Gallifrey has experience on her side.
At Newcastle, Gallifrey clocked the second fastest closing sectional, 0.68s faster than the third best horse in the race. The overall time of the race was reasonable and with a bit of improvement she should be good enough to take a maiden.
