Kempton Tips: Franco’s Secret

Dead-heated on last start but was the moral victor as he came from a hopeless position, running the final 2f in a speedy 21.6s.

Franco’s Secret dead-heated on his last start but that was the very least he deserved.

From a poor draw, Charles Bishop was forced to race at the back of the pack. This turned out to be the worst position as the leaders went a much slower gallop than ideal, with the finishing speed 110.6% compared to the average speed.

Despite this handicap Franco’s Secret rallied impressively, running the final 2f in a rapid 21.61s to catch Bosstime on the line.

Franco’s Secret has only been put up 2lbs for that performance which means he gets to race in the same grade in the 5.10 Kempton.

Peter Hedger has done well with the family in the past and this lightly raced 4-year-old could be the pick of the bunch. At 11/2 (Bet365), he should go close again.
