Kempton Tips: Duke Cosimo
Put up a career best effort winning at Kempton in June and had excuses since then.
Duke Cosimo returns to the scene of his last victory and there could be more to come from this unexposed 3-year-old.
Back in June he won in fine style over 6f at Kempton, accelerating into a quickening pace he was a 1.25 length winner, the field well strung out behind him. His turn of foot over the final 3f was impressive and reminiscent of his brother Duke Of Firenze.
Things haven’t gone to plan since, he was beaten by the draw at Chester and struggled to make any headway in tacky ground at Newmarket. It might be that he needs a sound surface or polytrack to show his best form but he is almost certainly better than his rating and at 6/1 (Stan James) slightly overpriced.
