Kempton Tips: Danzoe

Gone well on turf despite it being his least favourite surface. Back on the AW, he should have the race run to suit.

The 7.40 Kempton looks an even contest where the outsiders provide the value. Danzoe might look a complete no hoper at 20/1 (William Hill) but he has the ability to win this type of race.

The key is a strong pace - which he should get tonight. He doesn’t have the early speed to capitalise on a good position so a supposedly ‘bad draw’ in stall 10 won’t affect him if they go a good gallop and string out the field.

Much of his recent form must be taken with a pinch of salt as a strike rate of 3/40 on turf suggests it isn’t his best surface. Nevertheless, he finished second in a class 4 contest at Epsom in July to showcase his well being.

Reverting to his favoured all-weather surface and with a potential pace collapse in the final furlong, he could steal the race at a big price.
