Kempton Tips: Corporal Maddox
Did best of the closers over an inadequate 6f last time out. Step up in trip a big plus.
Ron Harris did a sound bit of business when he claimed Corporal Maddox two starts ago. He finished a good third in a class 3 handicap on his first start for new connections proving the ability is there. Stepped up in trip to 7f but still racing in class 3 company, he should make a bold bid in the 7.00 Kempton.
At his best coming off a strong pace, he found 6f round Lingfield too sharp, but he was still the highest placed finisher of the hold-up horses in a race that suited front-runners.
Kempton’s longer home straight, coupled with the extra furlong should be ideal for Corporal Maddox, making him the value bet in the race at 13/2 (BetVictor).
