Kempton Horse Racing Tips: Clear Praise

Twice a course and distance winner and has clocked times that suggest he is much better than a class four handicapper.

The 6.30 at Kempton is a cracking little sprint handicap and I’m pleased to see Clear Praise back at his favourite venue.

I was first alerted to the horse in December of last year. He won a competitive handicap by two lengths and in a fast time for the grade. He soon followed up with another course and distance victory when he came from last to first under just a hands and heels ride. The time was borderline class two level but achieved in a class four race.

Subsequent all-weather races didn’t quite pan out for him, a combination of pulling too hard and interference scuppered his chances. Although he failed to win his last two, his record over six furlongs at Kempton is: 1143.

The bookmakers seem put off by the fact he is having his first run for 100 days, but the layoff seems logical. He is a much better horse on artificial surfaces compared to turf; it makes sense to save him for a winter all-weather campaign.  I think Clear Praise is a seriously good horse and at 16/1 (Victor Chadler) he is excellent value.
