Kempton Tips: Ballinure
Two miles at Huntingdon was always likely to be an inadequate test for a horse who placed in 3m points. Up in trip today.
It is National Hunt all the way with today’s three meetings and the obvious place to start is Nicky Henderson at Kempton.
In the past five seasons, Nicky Henderson has a 29% strike rate (31-108) with his hurdlers at Kempton and despite the large sample size his runners still return a healthy £63 level stakes profit at SP.
In the 1.30 contest he saddles Ballinure and he should improve on his recent second at Huntingdon.
Having won a National Hunt Flat race over 2m and placed in 3m point to point races, the 15.5f at Huntingdon was always going to be an insufficient test and so it proved as he got done for speed.
This afternoon he steps up to 21f and should run a much better race at 2/1 (William Hill).
