Kempton Tips: Amenable

Plummeted down the handicap but stable are in better form and could get an easy lead.

Seven months ago, Amenable was winning a class 4 handicap off a mark of 78. This evening he contests the 6.45 Kempton class 6 handicap off 55.

His dramatic fall has coincided with a change of yards but at some stage he is going to win one of these low grade races.

The problem is predicting when he will show his ability. Conventional wisdom suggests waiting for a glimmer of hope before steaming in, but throughout his career he’s won seemingly from nowhere.

Amenable’s form preceding a win (since 2011): 800020100881

We must conclude that Amenable’s recent form is no guide to his future performance, a relief considering he has barely beaten a horse in 2013!

The key to Amenable’s victories is being able to make all because he can sulk if he doesn’t get a soft lead. With no prominent runners in the field and several slow starters on his inside, he should get an easy passage to lead on the rail.

With Violet Jordan’s horses running much better than they were in January and February, Amenable could do his usual trick of winning out of the blue at 10/1 (William Hill).
