Kempton Tips: Absolute Blast
Getting her career back on track with Iain Jardine. Raced in the 2015 French 1000 Guineas and deeply impressive last time out
Absolute Blast has been given a 12lbs hike in the weights for her Wolverhampton win but that might not be enough to stop her in the 6.20 Kempton.
Formerly trained in France, she hasn’t been with Iain Jardine long but he’s already started to piece the talented performer back together. Only beaten 6 lengths in the French 1000 Guineas she is clearly a talented horse but injuries have seen her race only twice since June 2015.
Whatever the problems, she looks over them now especially the way she trounced her rivals in a class 4 handicap. She quickened well off a moderate gallop, running a rapid 22.95s closing sectional, the fastest in the race by 0.5s.
Visually it was impressive; it all looked so easy and that was despite rounding the field because of traffic problems. On my adjusted speed ratings, I had her running to a mark of 91 but there’s likely more to come and she’s probably a 100+ horse in the making.
