Kempton Horse Racing Tips: Absa Lutte

The jockey is often the key to this horse and the successful Jimmy Quinn retains the ride. The horse is also 4/12 at Kempton.

Micheal Mullineaux has trained Absa Lutte for nine months and it looks like he is getting to grips with her. Firstly, he has settled on the correct trip of five furlongs. Her record over the minimum distance is vastly superior:

Record for Micheal Mullineaux:

5f: 12 runs – 2 wins – 5 places
6f: 12 runs – 0 wins – 2 places

Dropped to five furlongs last time out, she obliged by winning a competitive sprint at Lingfield. She was slightly fortunate as the third placed horse would have won without interference, but she still ran a fine race in a fast time. She has only gone up 2lbs for that win, so the handicapper has hardly punished her anyway.

She races in the 4.40 at Kempton at 7/1 with Boylesports and the venue is important. She has won 4 out of her 12 races at the track, compared to a record of 2/15 at Wolverhampton and Lingfield combined.

Jimmy Quinn retaining the ride is another massive plus. Absa Lutte is a horse that needs to be cagoled rather than rousted to be at her best. Kieren Fallon is the other jockey to have won on her this season; he and Quinn are amongst the best at engaging with their mounts. If you watch her win at Lingfield, Jimmy Quinn got her up on the line without ever reaching for his whip.
