Kempton Tip: Great Acclaim

The 8.00 at Kempton is a good little race. If Capone can build on his comeback run, then he is a dangerous prospect, but for a horse with so little racing in the last two years he is short enough in the betting.

My preference is for the unexposed Great Acclaim. Trainer James Fanshawe can do no wrong with sprinters at the moment and this is another exciting prospect. On his fifth start he won over course and distance in a similar class of race. The eye-catching element was the way the jockey pushed him out with a hands and heels ride. Eddie Ahern must have been extremely confident not to reach for his whip. It suggests this horse still has much more to give.

Well drawn in stall three, he will able to follow the pace on the rail. I suspect there is more to come and he could make a mockery of this field.
