Kempton Races Tips: Griffin Point
His gate speed is ideally suited to this sharp track. Bagging the inside rail is a huge advantage.
The five furlong track at Kempton is extremely tight, with races often won at the start. The 2.30, brings together 12 horses of similar running styles and ability. If Griffin Point can show his customary gate speed then he should get the crucial inside rail and dominate the race.
Since dropping back to the minimum trip, his record on polytrack or turf no slower than good is 2113. He finished 5th on his last start at Nottingham on going described as good, but that was misleading as times clocked that day suggest the ground was riding much slower.
Amongst those runs, he has twice earned speed ratings better than anything in this field. He achieved them by the jockey setting off quick and trying to make all. Martin Dwyer needs to adopt those tactics again because, other than The Strig (poorly drawn in stall eleven), there is no one to challenge him for the lead.
