Kempton Horse Racing Tip
Last time over five furlongs he came from last to sixth, making up over seven lengths on his rivals in the home straight. If he can break on terms today he has the beating of them.
In the 5.10 at Kempton i’m putting up Vertumnus, a horse I tipped in January and the same reasons apply today.
Having his eleventh run tonight, it is only his second over five furlongs which I think is his optimum trip. When he raced over the distance at Wolverhampton he put in by far his best performance. Very slowly out the gates he was in a hopeless position at the back of the field but he still came from last to sixth in the home straight, making up over seven lengths on his rivals.
The big danger in the race is Steel City Boy, the Derek Shaw yard is coming back to form and this horse showed his old gusto when finishing third last time out. If building on his last run he is handicapped to win this type of race, but at a third of the price of Vertumnus he is not value.
