Kempton All Weather Selections

Very moderate racing tonight at Kempton but the one dimensional nature of the runners can make life easier, the 16:15 at Kempton cases this very point. Francis Albert is a confirmed speed ball and drawn by the rail in stall eleven it is pretty obvious that he will try make all. This tactic almost worked over course and distance three runs ago but he got worn down late on, the horse is still a maiden after 15 attempts and is clearly a short runner and can be opposed.

Around him in the favoured high draws there isn’t much to get excited about, Spoof Master is impossibly hard to win with, a record of 3 wins and 16 placed efforts tell you all you need to know about his winning mentality.

Tyrannosaurs Rex has plummeted down the weights and would have a great chance if returning to some sort of form, but his last two runs have been underwhelming and I’d like to see a bit more zest before backing him.

Force To Spend looks poorly drawn in stall 1, but in big fields being berthed 10 away from the rail yields an 11.2% strike rate and is not the handicap it is perceived to be. The Littmoden horse is exceptional in this field as she is one of the few to come into the race with any sort of form. A third place finish behind Chjimes last time out is respectable and although that was over 6 furlongs the strong pace tonight should play into her hands.

With so many out of form horses in this grade it pays to go with one that has shown something.
