Hot Kempton Sprint Handicap
The horse is in the form of his life and raced with great credit in his last two outings.
An excellent sprint handicap this evening in the 19.20 at Kempton. Methaaly at the age of eight is in the form of his life and from a good draw he should be prominent and able to dictate the race.
Last time over six furlongs he took on two five furlong speed-balls in Ajara and Jigajig and matched them for pace, eventually unable to sustain the three way pace duel they dropped out tamely but Methaaly kept going for the extra furlong, his stamina only giving way 100 yards from the line. Considering the way the race panned out he was beaten a very creditable two lengths.
It was a similar story two runs ago when he matched front runner Billy Red for speed, again the pace dual told on Methaaly and he finished second but still a good six lengths ahead of Billy Red.
If Methaaly’s jockey can keep him out of a speed dual and conserve a bit more petrol than his last two runs he should be able to finish off the race much better and turn around the form with his main rival Diriculous.
