Get Saucy

Saucy Minx ran a quicker closing sectional than Volunteer Point on Finals’ Day but was poorly positioned in a steadily run race.

Volunteer Point took the Fillies’ and Mares’ Championship eight days ago and heads the betting for the 4.10 Kempton but the value is found with a horse she beat that day.

Saucy Minx finished fourth on Good Friday beaten 3.75 lengths but she can be rated alongside the winner.

Drawn in stall eight, Jim Crowley had no option but to take a pull and ride from the rear. Unfortunately this was the worst position in a steadily run race.

Saucy Minx actually covered the final 2f quicker (by 0.05s) than Volunteer Point but the winner was better positioned and got first run on her rivals. We might have the same problem again drawn in stall 9 but Kempton is a fairer track and has a longer home straight.

The disparity in price is wrong and Saucy Minx is the better bet at 16/1 (William Hill).
