Epsom Tips: Bear Behind
Has the best draw and is the speediest horse in the race. Should make every post a winning one.
The 3.15 Epsom is tailor-made for Bear Behind and it is his race to lose.
From stall 20/20 it is a simple equation for jockey Richard Kingscote. Boot the horse out of the gate, grab the stand’s rail and make all to win.
Bear Behind showed impressive early speed to lead Hamish McGonagall at Musselburgh in April. His rival is a Group 1 winner and has bags of pace, so to beat him for toe takes a speedy horse.
The problem at Epsom is that it can be very hard to make ground from off the pace. Bear Behind reminds me a lot of 2006 winner Desert Lord, who was a real speedball and similarly made all to win down the stand’s rail.
