Epsom Tips: Sandfrankskipsgo
Winner last time out, travelling notably well in a competitive handicap. Trainer has a good record at Epsom.
Owner/trainer Peter Crate is yet to have a winner at Epsom but it is a track he likes to target. From just six runners he’s had horses finish in the top-four at 9/1, 16/1 and 25/1 twice.
Amongst that roll call is Sandfrankskipsgo, who has twice run well over course and distance. He finished third last July, beaten by only one length despite racing too freely. Then he finished ninth in August, beaten only 3.5 lengths despite stumbling out of the gates and the saddle slipping.
He starts his turf campaign with a run already under his belt and it was a good one, winning a competitive handicap at Wolverhampton.
He travelled like a good horse, finishing ahead of subsequent winner My Son Max. It looks like he’s trained on during the winter and looks a big danger at 6/1 (Betfred) on a track he handles.
