Caspian Prince To Reign At Wolverhampton

Useful sprinter who has won his last two starts but still looks well handicapped.

The 4.45 Wolverhampton is an absolute belter of a handicap and with £28,355 to the winner, it livens up a dreary Monday.

Plenty of good horses have turned up for the money but the most exciting of them all is Caspian Prince.

A useful sprinter in France, only beaten 1.25 lengths in a Listed race, he’s transferred his form to the UK and has won his last two starts.

Last time out he made all to win over course and distance in a good time but his victory was deceiving. To the naked eye it looked like he had the run of the race, but he actually went too quick early on. By my calculations he covered the first 3f, three lengths quicker than optimum.

With a moderate draw and several front-runners in the field, there is a possibility of another burn-up but we are compensated by the price of 12/1 (William Hill).
