Back On The Road

Temple Road couldn’t go by the winner at Wolverhampton but he still has a 21.39s sectional in his back pocket at Lingfield.

I’m getting back on the Temple Road this Friday in the expectation that Lingfield will bring out the best in him again.

Two starts back he won in fine style, coming from rear off a moderate pace and clocking a final 2f split of 21.39s, amongst the quickest ever seen at the track.

Last time out at Wolverhampton we saw the worst of Temple Road. He travelled like a dream, came to win his race and found nothing off the bridle. The 9-year-old traded as low as 1.66 in-running but the winner also deserves some credit as it was his 12th career win.

In truth, the first two both ran well. I gave them adjusted speed ratings above their handicap marks and they pulled 1.75 lengths clear of the third horse.

Temple Road’s record in class 5/6 handicaps over course and distance is 11132451 and he is up to winning again.
