Authenticity Makes Up For Lost Time
Bumped into useful Bess Of Hardwick on return from two-year absence but ran third fastest sectional and suited by step up in trip.
Authenticity has the burden of top-weight in the 6.15 Wolverhampton but it is a weak maiden and 14/1 (Bet365) is too hard to resist.
He returned from a two-year absence to run well in a fair maiden at the start of October. He finished fifth, beaten 7.25 lengths but ran the third fastest closing sectional despite hitting a flat spot 3f out.
The lack of push-button acceleration suggests he will be better suit behind a stronger gallop or over further and this evening he steps up to 14f.
Based on his adjusted speed rating I make him a mid-70s horse and against moderate opposition that might be enough to win despite shouldering 9-13.
