All Eyes On Catalyze At Kempton

Landed a big gamble on Friday and looks a cut above this grade.

The 4.25 Kempton is a poor race that wouldn’t normally hold much interest but the spotlight has fallen on Ann Stokell in recent days.

Her modest string have been bolstered by 21 horses that used to race for Stephen Arnold and one of those horses, Catalyse, landed a massive punt at Wolverhampton on Friday.

Unfortunately, I was on the wrong end of the gamble, having backed the runner-up Flow Chart but the form looks rock solid for the grade.

The first two pulled six lengths clear of the third placed horse and the time was reasonable considering it was a class 7 handicap.

Catalyze won by a neck but he was value for a bit more as he pulled hard early in the race and then had to make up ground as Flow Chart quickened off the final bend.

Considering Catalyze returned at 6/4 I am surprised he is 11/4 (Bet365) for a race that is no more difficult to win.
