WGC Match Play Tip: Hogan Bracket

The weakest bracket left; the bookmakers have the top two in the betting the wrong way round.

The Hogan bracket always looked the weakest and with Mickelson out, it now definitely is. If we look at our hypothetical leader board two of the weakest players this week, McDowell and YE Yang are in this bracket. Throw in Matt Kuchar who was lucky to beat Anders Hansen, and you have three beatable players.

Fortunately we have one of the game’s most exciting prospects in the bracket. Rickie Fowler showed great match play promise at the Ryder Cup and he delivered on it here with a 6&5 thrashing of Mickelson.

On the hypothetical leader board he is three shots clear of next best Kuchar. The bookmakers have the betting the wrong way round, with McDowell current favourite and Fowler second favourite for the bracket.
