WGC Match Play Tips: Jordan Spieth
Approach play dramatically improved since last season, up to second in strokes gained compared to 87th. Back to his best.
Eight of the last ten WGC Match Plays have gone to players seeded in the top-10 and I expect the cream to rise to the top again.
Jordan Spieth was good in 2016 without ever dominating but he seems back to his best this season. In six starts in 2017 he has finished 3-3-9-1-22-12 and looks set for a multiple-titled year.
His approach play is much improved, second in strokes gained compared to 87th last year and his putting has always been excellent.
Currently second on tour for birdie average, there aren’t many players who can withstand the barrage of red numbers he will throw at them. At 12/1 he has a massive chance.
