WGC Match Play Tip: Elementary for Holmes
There was an eight shot difference between their first rounds yet the bookmakers can't split them.
JB Holmes was a last minute replacement for Tim Clarke, but with the pressure off he shot -5 in 16 holes to comfortably dispatch Villegas in the first round. Next up he faces Ernie Els, a tight match according to the betting.
This isn’t the case, Jeff Overton imploded against Els, throwing away a three hole lead and allowing Els to win whilst scoring three over par. This adds up to an eight shot difference, yet they are both priced up at 10/11.
