7th Apr 2013 | The Masters

US Masters Profiles: Luke Donald

The world number 4 but destined to remain under-rated until he wins one of the big four.

Age: 35

World Ranking: 4

Major Wins: 0

Augusta Record: Three top-10s but nothing better than his T3 on debut in 2005. A T4 in 2011 was the recent highlight.

Form: Definitely worse than 2011 and 2012 which explains the drop down to number four in the world. Missed the cut in the Malaysian Open last time out.

Verdict: The ‘never won a major’ albatross remains but perhaps the fact that few pundits foresee that changing this week can inspire the Englishman. It’s certainly unusual to see him at 40/1 with some bookmakers. If the short-game clicks back into optimum mode you never know.
