Masters Market Movers

We bring you the latest market movers with the US Masters golf starting today.

Phil Mickelson is going to start the US Masters as favourite at 13/2. There has been a steady stream of bets for the reigning champion all week, but the bookmakers have left their prices relatively unchanged since the Houston Open. Tiger Woods has been cut to 11/1 having been the subject of sustained support this morning, with Betfred and William Hill no longer able to hold the 12/1.

Of the Europeans, Lee Westwood has been the best backed and is 16/1 third favourite. Victor Chandler went a stand out 25/1 for a period on Monday but that price is now long gone. Fellow Englishman Luke Donald has also been supported, in to 22/1 from 33/1 at the start of the week.

Big hitting American Dustin Johnson is many people’s selection for the week and his price has been clipped in to 28/1 from 30/1. With such an open field, the bookmakers have been able to stomach most gambles, but Mickelson is the player they still want to get beaten.

In reaction to Stan James’ offer to refund losing bets if Mickelson or Woods win; Betfred have gone one better. If your player finishes 2nd to a past Master’s winner, Betfred will refund all losing singles on the outright market.

That not only means you get your money back if Mickelson or Woods wins but also includes the likes of Vijay Singh, Trevor Immelman and Zach Johnson.
