Tournament of Champions Tips: Matt Kuchar
Arguably the most consistent player on the PGA Tour, he’s now added a winning mentality to his game.
Matt Kuchar registered the first multiple-win season of his career in 2013 and that might just open the floodgates.
Perhaps the most consistent player on the PGA Tour, he registered 15 top-25 finishes from 23 starts last year without a single missed cut. Allied to the fact he now understands how to win tournaments, I expect Kuchar to feature heavily in my staking plans this year.
On his last four visits to Kapalua, the 35-year-old has finished T25-3-T6-T9; the first of those results is forgivable as it came back in 2003.
In this limited 30 man field I’d be very surprised if Kuchar didn’t feature near the top of the leaderboard making him a solid each-way bet at 9/1 (Betfred) with ¼ odds for a top-4 finish.
