Tournament of Champions Tips: Jason Day

Finished T9 in 2011 and his one weakness, accuracy, is unlikely to be a factor at Kapalua.

Jason Day is another player who doesn’t win as often as he should. The young Australian has just two PGA Tour wins to his name and it’s something he must be desperate to put right in 2015.

Last year he endured another injury-hit campaign but still managed to win the World Match Play and add five further top-10 finishes from just 15 starts.

Day’s only weakness is his waywardness off the tee; last season he ranked 131st for driving accuracy. This shouldn’t be an issue at Kapalua as the fairways are generous and last year’s field topped 77% for driving accuracy.

This could be the year Day challenges McIlroy for the title of world number one and it wouldn’t be a shock if he started with a win in Hawaii at 15/2 (Bet365).
