Sanderson Farms Championship: Xander Schauffele
Finished T60 at the Safeway Open but was well placed after three rounds. Finished T9 on his penultimate start.
After a summer spent on the bubble, Xander Schauffele eventually earned his PGA Tour card through the Final Series and early indications are promising. At the Safeway Open he finished T60 but was well placed through three rounds before a messy Sunday where he was guilty of pushing too hard.
Nevertheless, a cut made is encouraging and he looked comfortably on Silverado’s greens as he ranked 14th in strokes gained putting.
If you include his results on the Web.com Tour it is now seven consecutive cuts made for Schauffele and on his penultimate start he finished T9 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. In terms of field strength that wasn’t dissimilar to what he faces in Mississippi and he is a good price at 125/1.
