Simpson the Obvious Choice in Phoenix

Finished eighth on his last two visits to Scottsdale and started the new season with four top-10s.

Webb Simpson is a player who consistently makes it onto my short list and I’m finding it very difficult to make a case not to back him in the Phoenix Open.

So far this season he has finished 1-T7-5-T3-T23 and has broken par in 18 of his last 20 competitive rounds of golf.

The 28-year-old has recaptured the form that saw him finish second on the money list in 2011 and I expect he will be a permanent fixture on leaderboards this year.

Simpson has finished eighth on his last two visits to Scottsdale and at 16/1 (Boylesports) he rates a solid each-way bet.
