Malaysian Open Tips: Jbe Kruger
Has two top-30 finishes in Kuala Lumpur and arrives on a high after his victory in the Zimbabwe Open last week.
Whilst the Masters took place last week not many people were paying attention to Jbe Kruger winning the Zimbabwe Open.
The South African shot four sub-70 rounds to win for the third time on the Sunshine Tour, his fourth victory as a professional.
As luck would have it, his other win came on the Asian Tour and he returns to his old stomping ground this week for the Malaysian Open.
The 27-year-old has a good record in Kuala Lumpur finishing T11-T28 on his last two starts, with a winning opportunity scuppered in 2012 by a third round 77.
Nevertheless, Krugar has the ability to go low at the course, shooting rounds of 65 and 67 in the last couple of years.
He arrives full on confidence and a recent winner shouldn’t be 125/1 (Stan James) no matter what tour it came on.
