Humana Challenge Tips: Harris English
Finished with rounds of 62-66 at the Sony Open, the best of the weekend scores. Also shot a 62 at the Humana last year.
With closing rounds of 62-66, no one finished better at the Sony Open than Harris English. One of the most promising rookies on tour last year, the 23-year-old can kick-on in 2013 now that he has familiarised himself with the courses.
Last season he was a model of consistency, making the cut in 22 of his 27 starts. There we some harsh lessons learnt along the way, including a collapse in the final round of the Honda Classic. However at his age you would expect him to learn from these bad-beats and come back stronger.
The courses at the Humana Challenge should suit Harris English’s game; he hits it long and makes plenty of birdies. Last year he shot a second round 62 showing his potential at the tournament.
Having watched his close friend Russell Henley win last week, Harris English could be an inspired bet at 40/1 (Bet365) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
