Humana Challenge Tips: Daniel Summerhays

Hasn’t missed a cut since July and will relish this week’s challenge, which is all about finding greens and making putts.

Daniel Summerhays is enjoying a prolonged period of quality golf and his consistency can be rewarded at the Humana Challenge this week.

The 31-year-old finished an encouraging T17 at the Sony Open and hasn’t missed a cut since the Greenbrier Classic way back in July last year.

Summerhays is not the longest hitter (141st for driving distance) but that isn’t a factor at the Humana Challenge, instead his prowess with the flat stick should come to the fore.

Last season Summerhays ranked ninth for strokes gained putting and combined with his top-50 rankings for driving accuracy and GIRs, he should create plenty of birdie opportunities.

In his last three visits to the Humana Challenge, he’s finished T11-T27-T58 and he should get in the mix again at 80/1 (Paddy Power) with 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
