Ploughing A Profitable Siem

Has two top-5 finishes at the Emirates GC and the course suits him better than Abu Dhabi and Qatar.

A three-time winner on tour Marcel Siem is one of the better golfers in the 100/1 price bracket and the type to spring up from nowhere and win.

The 33-year-old has made a solid start to the new season with finishes of T15-T37-T43 but there are several reasons to expect an improved showing in Dubai.

In Qatar the big hitting German didn’t find nearly enough fairways and the thick rough meant he was always going to struggle to hit greens and make birdies.

The Emirates GC is more forgiving, the wayward Alvaro Quiros won here in 2011, therefore Siem should look to move up the leaderboard.

His record in the Dubai Desert Classic is good; he finished fourth in 2012 and fifth in 2004, which suggests the course suits his game.

Marcel Siem looks a cracking bet at 100/1, back him each-way with Paddy Power and get an extra place, with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
