Kaymer On The Way Back

For Martin Kaymer 2015 was only his second winless year since 2007, something you wouldn’t have expected when he enjoyed a 10-shot lead at one stage in Abu Dhabi before a spectacular meltdown.

The two-time major champion managed to record a T4 a fortnight later at the Dubai Desert Classic but that loss precipitated a poor run of play and it was only late in the season that he looked anything like the player we know.

Time is a great healer and thankfully, Kaymer is coming back into form. In his last four starts he’s finished no worse than T25 and bagged a T16 on his return to the nightmare that was Abu Dhabi.

The German has always been an excellent player in the desert and Emirates GC is a course where he’s enjoyed good results. In six starts, he has four top-4 finishes and a worst of T31.

In a market dominated by Rory McIlroy he is an excellent each-way play at 25/1 (Ladbrokes).
