BMW Championship Tips: Justin Rose
Did well to finish T16 at TPC Boston considering it was a putting competition. Better suited to the links-style test at Conway Farms.
Justin Rose suffered an understandable dip after winning the US Open but his form in the Playoffs suggests he has refocused his attentions.
The 33-year-old has shot under par in all eight rounds of the Playoffs and I was particularly impressed by his T16 finish at the Deutsche Bank Championship because putting is usually his weakness. Rose ranks 140th for strokes gained putting; therefore TPC Boston would not have suited him.
A return to a course which offers an all-round test is a better fit for his game so he should enjoy himself at Conway Farms. The Tom Fazio designed course has a links feel to it with rolling fairways and links-style greens.
Rose, an excellent ball-striker, thrives on these ‘old-fashioned’ courses as he proved at Merion and at 20/1 (Betfred) he has to be in our staking plan.
