BMW Championship Golf Tips: Bill Haas

Bill Haas Talent

Excellent ball striker and has a canny knack of finding the green when he isn’t on the fairway.

With the fourth most difficult greens to hit on tour, Cog Hill is a test of patience and accuracy. Conditions should be perfect for Bill Haas to flourish.

The 29 year-old American has enjoyed another excellent season and is unfortunate not to have a victory to his name. Two playoff defeats and four additional top ten finishes are testimony to his good form.

Bill Haas’ main strength is accuracy. He ranks 9th on tour for GIRs and 6th for ball striking. However, there is one small statistic that speaks volumes for his prospects. Haas ranks second on tour for GIR percentage when playing from somewhere other than the fairway.

Cog Hill is a difficult driving course, where keeping the ball on the fairways can be tough. Having the ability to find greens from the longer grass is a huge asset. Haas has finished T10-T30 at the BMW Championship in the last two years, proving he handles the track. Back him each way at 100/1 and get ¼ odds for a top five finish.
