AT&T Pebble Beach Tips: Steven Bowditch
Finished T9-T15 on his last two visits and seems to raise his game for this tournament.
For whatever reason, some golfers play certain courses well and that is the case with Steven Bowditch and Pebble Beach.
On his last two visits, he’s finished T9-T15, shooting no worse than 72 in his eight rounds. Pebble Beach doesn’t look like an obvious fit for the big hitting Australian. Ranked 18th for driving distance last season, he can be long but wayward off the tee.
Bowditch has started 2013 fairly quietly, finishing T67-T47 at the Sony Open and Humana Challenge and missing the cut at the Farmers - but I wouldn’t read too much into his form. The 29-year-old raises his game at Pebble Beach, therefore at 250/1 (Stan James) he is worth a speculative each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
