Back Snedeker To Defend His Title

A slow start to the season is down to injuries but his second round 64 at Phoenix suggests his game is about to click.

Brandt Snedeker has won on tour in each of the last three seasons and he should add to that tally if staying injury free.

The problem with the 33-year-old is he’s unusually accident prone. He struggled for much of 2013 with sore ribs and then fell off a Segway in Shanghai injuring his knee.

These factors have contributed to his slow start to the season, the Phoenix Open being a prime example. Snedeker missed numerous putts from 5 feet, something you’d never usually see him do and that is purely down to rustiness. His rehabilitation programme meant he started the season undercooked.

However there was a ray of hope in the second round at Scottsdale, when he shot a flawless 64.

The consistency isn’t quite there yet but that means we get a generous price with the bookmakers considering he is defending champion at Pebble Beach.
