AT&T Pebble Beach Tip: Bryce Molder

The Bryce is right

Finished T10-T6 in the last two years but returns with the confidence associated with being a winner on tour in 2011.

Bryce Molder has been well backed for the AT&T Pebble Beach and it is easy to see why.

It took the 33-year-old 131 tournaments to register his maiden victory but it could open the floodgates. The 2011 Frys.com Open Champion has finished in the top-15 in six of his last seven starts, a record that harks back to October of last year. His one poor finish was at the Humana Challenge, but I’m happy to forgive a missed cut at a tournament that generates some odd results.

Not only is Bryce Molder a golfer in form, he also has a terrific record at Pebble Beach. He was joint leader going into the final round last year before stuttering on the Sunday and slipping back to a share for sixth. It was an almost identical story in 2010, when a final round 76 dropped him back to tenth.

He now returns to California with that all-important win under his belt. The confidence of knowing he can close out a tournament should drastically reduce the chances of a final round meltdown.

At 30/1 with Bet365, he might appear the obvious bet but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Back him each way with ¼ odds for a top five finish.
